Frequently asked questions

Does a plus sign mean a space?

A plus sign can mean a space in form-encoded query strings. Component decoding and form decoding are different; review plus signs in your input.

Is URL Decoder free?

Yes. This public tool does not require an account, payment or subscription.

Where is my input processed?

The tool-specific processing runs in your browser. Website delivery still involves hosting requests; see the privacy policy for details. Read the privacy policy.

Why do I see a decoding error?

A % sign must be followed by two hex digits, such as %20. A stray % or a broken UTF-8 sequence can’t be decoded, so check the input for a missing or cut-off character.

Read encoded links, UTM tags and redirect URLs

Tracking links and redirects often hide the real destination behind %2F and %3D codes. Decode a parameter to see what it says before you click it or reuse it in a campaign.

Your privacy: Your text is decoded in your browser and never sent to ToolTama.
