ToolTama

Privacy and security: how we protect your files

Every ToolTama tool runs inside your web browser. Your files and text are processed on your own device, and they are not uploaded to ToolTama.

Our promise: Your file never leaves your device. We don’t ask you to sign up, and we have no account or database where your files or text could be stored.

How the tools work

When you open a tool, your browser downloads the page and its code. After that, the work happens on your device:

  • PDF tools (merge, extract pages, rotate, images to PDF) use the open-source pdf-lib library, which runs in your browser.
  • Image tools (compress, resize, convert) use your browser’s built-in canvas.
  • Text, developer, SEO and calculator tools work on the text or numbers you paste or type, using JavaScript in your browser.

The finished file is created on your device and saved through your browser’s normal download. None of the 57 tools sends your file, text or results to a ToolTama server.

How you can check this yourself

  1. Open a tool, then open your browser’s developer tools (F12) and choose the Network tab.
  2. Process a file.
  3. You’ll see no request that sends your file anywhere.

You can also load a tool, turn off your internet connection and then process a file. Once the page and its libraries have loaded, the tool keeps working offline.

What the website does receive

To be complete, a few things do involve other servers:

  • Loading the page: our host, Hostinger, receives normal connection data such as your IP address and browser type, like any website.
  • PDF library: PDF tools download pdf-lib from the jsDelivr CDN, with unpkg as a backup. These services see a normal download request, not your document.
  • Ads: ToolTama shows Google ads. Google may use cookies, as explained in our privacy policy. We never pass your files or text to advertisers.

Secure connection

The whole site is served over HTTPS, so the pages and tool code you download are encrypted in transit.

Tips for sensitive documents

  • Keep your original file. The tools create a new file and don’t change the one on your device.
  • On a shared computer, delete downloaded results when you’re done.
  • Check the result before you send it to anyone.
