How to use Resize Image Online

  1. Prepare your input

Select a JPG, PNG or WebP image. Its original dimensions and aspect ratio appear.

  2. Run the tool

Enter a width or height. Keep aspect ratio selected to update the other dimension, then choose Process image.

  3. Check and use the result

Save resized-image.png and check the dimensions. Keep the original image separately.

How this tool works

Select an image to automatically load its original width, height and aspect ratio. If Keep original aspect ratio is checked, changing one dimension updates the other. Uncheck it to set width and height independently. Then select Process image. Your browser handles the conversion. Images are not intentionally sent to the ToolTama server by this tool.

Frequently asked questions

Does resizing change the file format?

This tool exports PNG. Enlarging a small image adds pixels but cannot restore detail missing from the original.

Is Resize Image Online free?

Yes. This public tool does not require an account, payment or subscription.

Where is my input processed?

The tool-specific processing runs in your browser. Website delivery still involves hosting requests; see the privacy policy for details. Read the privacy policy.

How do I resize an image to exact pixels?

Select an image, then type the width and height you need in pixels. Leave Keep original aspect ratio checked so the picture is not stretched, or uncheck it to set both sizes freely. Choose Process image to download resized-image.png.

What size should I use for Instagram or WhatsApp?

Common sizes are 1080 × 1080 px for a square Instagram post, 1080 × 1350 px for a portrait post and 1080 × 1920 px for stories. Platforms change their guidance, so check their help pages for the latest numbers.

Does resizing reduce file size?

Making an image smaller in pixels usually reduces its file size. The result is saved as PNG, which keeps quality but can be large for photos. To make a photo lighter, run it through the image compressor afterwards.

Can I make a small image bigger?

You can, up to 15,999 pixels per side, but enlarging cannot add detail that was not in the original, so it may look soft.

Change image dimensions in seconds, privately

Forms, marketplaces and social networks often demand exact image sizes: a 600 × 600 px profile photo, a 1200 × 630 px share image, or a passport-style photo for an online application. This tool gives you exact pixel control with an aspect-ratio lock so faces and products are never squashed.

The resizing runs in your browser using the canvas built into every modern browser. Your picture is never uploaded to ToolTama.

Your privacy: Your image never leaves your device. Read how we protect your files.

Next step: check the current size first with the image dimensions checker, then shrink the file with the image compressor or convert it to WebP.
