Frequently asked questions
Does every password include every character type?
The generator randomly selects from letters, digits and symbols. It does not promise a character from every class in every result; check the destination site’s requirements.
Is Password Generator free?
Yes. This public tool does not require an account, payment or subscription.
Where is my input processed?
The tool-specific processing runs in your browser. Website delivery still involves hosting requests; see the privacy policy for details. Read the privacy policy.
How strong is a 20-character password?
Each password uses 20 characters from a set of 64 letters, numbers and symbols, which gives about 120 bits of randomness. That is far beyond what can be guessed by brute force.
Why are some letters missing?
Look-alike characters such as I, l, O, 0 and 1 are left out so passwords are easier to read and type correctly.
Where should I store generated passwords?
Use a password manager rather than notes or spreadsheets, and use a different password for every account. Turn on two-factor authentication where it is offered.
Why use this tool
Random, secure passwords created on your device
Reused and short passwords are the main way accounts get taken over. This generator uses your browser’s cryptographic random source (crypto.getRandomValues) and avoids biased sampling, so every character is equally likely.
Your privacy: Passwords are generated in your browser and are never sent to or seen by ToolTama.
